argh, I've only been there once, for 36 hours. I didn't see much except for the inside of pint glasses and Powell's and some pretty parts of the city. (I always love a city with a river in it.)
you will find stuff and have fun.
oh! random memory: there was a cafe called Dot's, I think- very hipster-cute, funky decor, pool table. but that doesn't really help you.
is there a craigslist for Portland?

I'm at home now, hurray! pretending to watch the debate. problem is, I can't stand GW's voice. it makes me want to leave the room and retch every time I hear it. at least I'm trying to hear Kerry out.
gack.

if you like zines go to Reading Frenzy, it's right near Powell's.It's right up there with Quimby's and Atomic Books as one of the best zine stores around, though it's smaller than either of those.

If you want a nice fancy-ish but not too pricey (by SF standards)veggie meal go to my friend's restaraunt. It's called The Farm. but go early unless you wanna wait.

oh, careful with g-friend at the bars and cafes! They still smoke up there. I was gonna recommend a tiki/karaoke place but it's very smokey.

I like the Red and Black Cafe for hanging out in.

The one lesbo bar is called like The Egyptian or Cleopatra's or something like that.

Portland is slow-paced. mostly I hang out with friends in their houses there.

thanky!
