sunday morning coming down again
May. 21st, 2006 05:55 pmwhy does rain make my allergies so much worse? seriously i have been about to behead peple all day inbetween the many sneezes. the exceptions? people who stop a moment to give a shit.
so armed with my own personal crankypants and a dose of benedryl course through my protein heavy / increasingly agressive system the mister and i went out to run errands. of course first we had to watch a few inningso fthe punk ass A's not pitch to Bonds. At least even the A's fans booed that. (side note - he made the tie yesterday - hot fucking shit!!!) So post baseball, and once the rain hit a full on bucket like downpour we left the house. first stop - downtown. crate and barrel - got in got out, no purchases, no fights. american eagle - turns out the one thing mister wanted from there is online only... great. plus side, here i got random kindness from an employee who was all - are you sick honey, you poor thing. and for once i wasn't treated (in that store) like someone's mom. nice. then some more failed retail therapy. a complete clusterfuck in sephora. three near altercations with tourists/panhandlers and then the realization that we needed food... NOW. do not pass go, do not have the time to leave the crap food area of downtown and get something better. so into the chaos of macy's basement it was. at least we didn't eat at tads (ie most overpriced under quality steak house in SF).
next it was off the the next errand. supplemental grocery trip. what was great was seeing dairryiere 2x in one weekend. yay yay yay. it was good to see J too - even if i have forgotten her %&^% LJ name. my apologies for benedryl brain. that was all good. got what we needed. came home.
home - yes. did i mention today was bay to breakers? which means ven hours later with steady rain there are still abunch of rowdy costumed idiots in my neighborhood standing in the middle of the road gazing up into the sky - unaware apparently that streets are for driving. especially that stragne and unique part of the street that has nothing to do with crosswalks. and of course the out of town parkers - who don't know how to back out of a parking spot without like 10 feet on either side of them in order to not hit another car.
home finally though. have some freelance shit to work on but am going to wait for a better mood to hit. making another pie since the mister missed out on yesterdays rhubarb goodness and there is lots of the rhubarb left over. i was thinking earlier today - since i eventually do want to do something less virtual for a living - maybe i should bake rhubarb pies and grandma's bread and pasties and make my living from that... how hard could it be? well - hella fucking hard i bet, but it's something to think about.
