i feel distracted and weird
i want to work and be efficient, but i can't get there
i think i am turning off all my chatting capabilities and going to try and POWER through

the hardest part, making the plan to make the work happen
like my boss said last week
it's not making sure nothing falls off the plate, but figuring out how to keep everything on the many plates there have to be, and keep them all spinning at once

crazy that this is now true for me in my actual and my work life
and it's all good
i love it all
but i have coasted for a long time without needing to be hyper efficient anywhere except in my art, and even there i got lazy
i am challenged again.
wow. be careful what you ask for.

i have lost some edits on a new piece that i love. i mean i love the piece, but i loved the edits more. HELL. and FYI - still cannot focus to save my life. 2/5 items on the to do list are gone. but it feels like the tip of the iceberg went and froze above my head.

candles - check
mood lighting - working on it
dinner being made - check
two separate and equally thrilling bits of lit to read and let my brain relax to - check

i wanted to get some work done, but i think i get the treat of reading tonight
i know it's always busy
and sometimes i wonder
if i act like there is all the time in the world
will it start to feel more like there actually is?

it's an experiment
beginning now
despite the day job
i will try for a little while
to act as if i have the life i want*
and then maybe it will be a little more real

*this does not include buying more shoes, clothes from anthropologie or expensive smelly things from sephora no matter how pretty, organized and artsy these things make me feel
