QUEER BLACK CINEMA™ is New York's first and only Black lesbian, gay
bi-sexual, transgender and queer monthly micro-cinema. QBC Film Series
was launched in January 2006 at the Audre Lorde Project and since
then, we have screened great works from a variety of filmmakers:
Sidra Smith's A Luv Tale featuring Gina Ravera and MC Lyte; Patrik Ian
Polk's Noah's Arc: The Wedding Episode; Tina Mabry's Brooklyn's Bridge
to Jordan; M.R. Stiff's Walk In The Life; Debra Wilson's Jumpin' The
Broom, Quincy Lenear's & Deondray Gossett's DL Chronicles and many
more. QBC Film Series provides a space for US and international Black
LGBTQ filmmakers to showcase gay-themed works for all to see and be
enlighten. We promote all artists of color, regardless of sexual
orientation, by screening their trailers and playing their original
music. QBC Film Series is not just a micro-cinema but a place to
network and distribute directly to QBC audiences. Most importantly,
the series provides a conglomerate "one-stop shop" web site where
audiences can find Black gay films. Currently, QUEER BLACK CINEMA™
takes place once every 4th week at the LGBT Community Center in
Manhattan 's trendiest gay neighborhood, Chelsea . All are welcomed
to attend screenings regardless of their sexual orientation, gender or
ethnicity. We aim to entertain, enlighten and educate through our
niche programming. Queer Black Cinema™ is an Our Stories Productions,
LLC project.
