so i am going to start keeping track of my loves of various cheese and wine.
i am usually a grab what packaging i like sort of gal -which sometimes means finding new treats
but often means not being able to repeat those treats.

for now - why the hell didn't i ever get turned on to tinern cheese before? i bought a welsh tintern with shallots and chives this weekend and HOLY CRAP IT"S AMAZING

and the four year old cheddar... the perfect sharp. i could even love a little sharper... but it's good...

as for wine... the new bottle last night was fine but didn't offer any exciting surprises

Cool! These are things I love and suck at writing down. Do you ever go to The Cowgirl Cremery up in Point Reyes? It's really great.

Who made the cheddar? Yum yum cheddar. Four to six years is about the perfect age for cheddars in my book.

I mean their store in Point Reyes is worth a visit.

The Bow's cheese dept rocks. They have my favorite from Asturias, Spain where I lived on a farm a million light years ago. The cheese is called Queso de Cabrales(goats). I'm very grateful that I can get some whenever I need that stinky cheese fix.

Speaking of wine. . .have you ever had pomegranate wine? I'm drinking some for the first time, right now, and it is delicious.

xo.

When you're at our store, are you using the cheese registry to keep track, or are you just taking notes?

And, if you like Tintern, have you tried the Red Dragon from the same company? It's got mustard seed and ale and is fucking awesome.

The cheese registry's basically a 3x5 notecard with your name and the cheeses you try and/or like. We thought it up because there seems to be an epidemic of short term memory loss among our customers. Also, it helps us recommend new things to try. Ask next time you're in.
