the mark growden benefit was amazing. well with the exception of the philosophy major from michigan who was cool and who even got it when i gave him shit for being pretentious but still pulled me into a film discussion when all i wanted was the music. and seriously the music - omg.

by far. this was one of the best shows i have been to in my life. the fact that it was far below sold out was a travesty to art.mark - the person the benefit was for - started the show with an uber short set on the banjo. there was a bruce springsteen cover, an original and another cover. it was grand. then there were bands. some amazing and some meh but mostly my boots were shaking. and then at the end mark and his accordion made an appearance. i almost cried many times. no really. the music. the passion in it. the complexity of the bass chords and the button harmonies  / melodies. oh my fucking god. over and over. oh my fucking god.

he's playing again on may 9th.

i feel like my life got changed. again.

he really is who i credit with inspiring me to pick up a squeezebox. and in that i have been given so much joy.

oh and sidetrack - lots of whiskey - no smoking. woot. almost at 3 weeks clean.

Hey folks
A pal of mine is having a bit of a rough patch. In order to make fancy tasty lemonade out of the ick that had come her way  folks are throwing a little (huge and awesome) party complete with burlesque, bands and the cooest auction ever. Come on out and have a good time. My band Vagabondage will be one of the performers.

Deeply rooted in political protest, L-Boogie is tangible proof that the written word, dance, and debauched drinking can be agents of change. Other influences on the development of L-Boogie also include disparate musical influences like Hip Hop, Electronica, R&B, Rock, Goth, Industrial and other earworms.

L-Boogie Day is a time-honored celebration of the passionate, sexy, funny, and scorching L-Boogie. L-Boogie aficionados rave about the catchy swing blues rhythm and refreshing perspective. Many have faith in L-Boogie as an art form for the forces of good and righteousness.

There is a movement afoot to make L Boogie Day a national holiday and there is stiff competition as it is also Tartan day in both the US and Canada.
