Multicultural Fellowship Program. Please forward this information to
anyone you know who may be interested in applying to the fellowship

Designed as a two-year full-time program, the Multicultural Fellowship

opportunities for community building in the Bay Area and to enhance
the Fellows' professional development as future foundation, nonprofit,

This year, the Fellowship Program is seeking one Fellow in each of the
following program areas: Arts and Culture, Education, and Social
Justice. The fellowship positions will commence in July 2008.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The San Francisco Foundation is organized into six program areas that
have staff with specific subject matter expertise and experience with
a variety of organizations. The entire program staff bring rich
perspectives from different kinds of community work to the Foundation

multi-task is a must. Historically, Fellows have five to fifteen years
of work experience. A Master's degree in a relevant area or equivalent
research and analysis experience preferred.

Arts and Culture Program Fellow Qualifications: Knowledge of visual,

systems, childcare centers, youth development work, parent engagement,
OR school-community partnership programs is required. Knowledge of
policy and research on education equity is desirable. Background in
full-service community schools, learning supports or complementary
learning is especially welcome.

Social Justice Program Fellow Qualifications: Experience in community
or youth organizing; voting & voting rights; civil rights; criminal or
juvenile justice; legal services; and/or policy advocacy required.
Experience working with immigrants/refugees, the LGBT community,
foster youth, communities of color, and/or media highly desirable.

AW YEA - WE"RE IN THE SF WEEKLY!!!

On the Lamm

You ever feel like you should shut up? Maybe you feel like someone — your dad, probably — thinks you should shut up, because you're too (fill in the blank). Most folks do at one time or another, and that's exactly why we need Nomy Lamm. This writer, singer, musician, playwright, and opinionated lecturer is fat, Jewish, gay, and has one foot. Imagine how many assholes have tried to get her to shut up! And then be wildly inspired by Lamm's complete lack of self-loathing, and by her many sassy backtalk strategies. "I've got the nerve to be myself," she sings in her band Tricrotic, and it's no hollow boast. She's been a Punk Planet columnist, a performer with Sister Spit, a co-writer of rock opera The Transfused, and Ms. Magazine's Woman of the Year. She recently relocated to San Francisco, and the Queer Open Mic is making her welcome as its featured performer. Expect a loud, stylish, shameless, funny lecture on how wrong your dad is.
