recently someone that i know was k'vetching that there are never any women of color events happening in the queer community. which though the queer community certainly has it's issues around race - in terms of arts events in june isn't really accurate.

here is a sneak preview directly from the executive director of the national queer arts fest. i will be posting dates and times later, but for the record.

Three nights of Queer women of color films; the women of color involved in the Hope & Healing show, Transforming Community, Dimension of IS, Rally the Troupes, Vicki Randle's cd release party, RADAR reading series, Pages from the Past, Fresh Meat, Fixed/Broken, Queeriosity, Saints & Sinners, and your open mics?   We  (NQAF) insist that our events have at least a 25% participation of people of color--if not more.
