Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In January I helped [livejournal.com profile] katasutra hide a body (-173 points). In September I gave [livejournal.com profile] sherilyn a kidney (1000 points). In August [livejournal.com profile] sf_lgbt_center and I donated clothes to the needy (11 points). In October I put gum in [livejournal.com profile] motel666's hair (-12 points). In November I bought porn for [livejournal.com profile] belowsurface (10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (836 points). For Christmas I deserve a toy train!

Sincerely,

just got a big old fashioned rush of sadness
sigh
sometimes i guess i do get homesick, even when my mother is being a bit of a jerk.
today i miss smoking. smoking out in the cold where the air and the smoke alternately warm and put icicles into the little bubbles in my lungs...

smoking on the el platform in chicago with claire and the wind whipping off of the lake, and it all just smells like marlboros, pizza and chanel #5 and i was so so happy...

i am not sure if i want to be an adult anymore
i need a vacation, and i keep having time off (weekends, long weekends, etc) but it never feels like quite enough.

yup, feel sad.
prolly need more sleep, but right now, too sad and tired to really want to examine the underpinings of my own pathetic narrative

Queer Open MicHey wonderful monkeyhead poet artsy people

There is one and only one Queer Open Mic happening in December, so if you haven't gotten your December fix of art, mischief and mayhem, c'mon over this Friday for a DAMN good time! Me and Mz. Sherilyn will be rockin the mic and keeping it real for the bevy of 'bowl you over' talent at your favorite homo open mic :)

FEATURING:
Fri, Dec 9: Steven Schwarz
Join local legend Steven Schwartz as he presents "69", a work of participatory erotic theatre -- but don't worry, you don't have to take your clothes off or do anything you'd be embarassed to do in public -- except, perhaps, read.
Inspired by Geoff Ryman's brilliant work "253" (www.ryman-novel.com, or available in book form) 69 deals with 69 people at a San Francisco sex party, giving each of them 69 words to describe what (or who) they're doing, how they're feeling, and what they're getting from the party. Anyone in the audience who wants to will be invited to read one or more of the people's entries, and you're encouraged to put your own best dramatic efforts into the interpretation.
More about Steven:
Which Steven Schwartz you get depends on the day you catch him. He is a science fiction writer, an erotica writer, a formal poet (in both technique and mien) and a microplaywright (the plays are small, he is large.)
Contrary to rumor, Steven is neither a Russian gangster, the reincarnation of Jerry Garcia, a Hell's Angel, Peter Jackson, nor a terrorist, though he has at various times been mistaken for all of the above.
His work has appeared in the chapbook 69, the Mammoth Book of Future Cops, Wired Hard 2, Best Bisexual Erotica 2, Tough Guys, and various online venues, including the Lodestar Quarterly. "69" has been performed at locations in the Midwest and on the West Coast.

Queer Open Mic happens on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month at Three Dollar Bill Cafe on the first floor of the San Francisco's LGBT Community Center at 1800 Market @ Octavia in SF and is hosted by Cindy M. Emch & Sherilyn Connelly

Open Mic sign up begins at 7:30, readings start at 8pm. Anyone with special needs should contact Cindy the night of the event for any specific accommodations.
$1-5 donations benefits Bitch Magazine. No one turned away for lack of funds. Open mic readers get 5 minutes, one poem or 3 pages of prose, whichever fits the material best.
For more info, contact Cindy M. Emch, indigo_cin@yahoo.com.

honestly?
i am a little drunk and listening to tom waits
i feel like raising some honest to god hel
but raising it in the written word
oh yea, bring it
this is what happens when i go to the corner store after work
tired
and over it
me the missus and a bottle of wine later
she's on the phone and i am listening to music
that makes me want to smoke cigarettes
and smash whiskey bottles

oh patrick where are you
when i need to crash random wedding parties with you
i miss and love you so much
emchy: (Default)
so really, i think that tom waits and wine together, should be completely illegal
i feel far too mischievous
i suppose it's only in my very good interests that clubs rarely if ever play tom waits
and to anyone on my list who doesn't like tom waits,
oh honey, just let me make you a mix tape and tell you why every song is a dream
