Queer Open MicHey wonderful monkeyhead poet artsy people

There is one and only one Queer Open Mic happening in December, so if you haven't gotten your December fix of art, mischief and mayhem, c'mon over this Friday for a DAMN good time! Me and Mz. Sherilyn will be rockin the mic and keeping it real for the bevy of 'bowl you over' talent at your favorite homo open mic :)

FEATURING:
Fri, Dec 9: Steven Schwarz
Join local legend Steven Schwartz as he presents "69", a work of participatory erotic theatre -- but don't worry, you don't have to take your clothes off or do anything you'd be embarassed to do in public -- except, perhaps, read.
Inspired by Geoff Ryman's brilliant work "253" (www.ryman-novel.com, or available in book form) 69 deals with 69 people at a San Francisco sex party, giving each of them 69 words to describe what (or who) they're doing, how they're feeling, and what they're getting from the party. Anyone in the audience who wants to will be invited to read one or more of the people's entries, and you're encouraged to put your own best dramatic efforts into the interpretation.
More about Steven:
Which Steven Schwartz you get depends on the day you catch him. He is a science fiction writer, an erotica writer, a formal poet (in both technique and mien) and a microplaywright (the plays are small, he is large.)
Contrary to rumor, Steven is neither a Russian gangster, the reincarnation of Jerry Garcia, a Hell's Angel, Peter Jackson, nor a terrorist, though he has at various times been mistaken for all of the above.
His work has appeared in the chapbook 69, the Mammoth Book of Future Cops, Wired Hard 2, Best Bisexual Erotica 2, Tough Guys, and various online venues, including the Lodestar Quarterly. "69" has been performed at locations in the Midwest and on the West Coast.

Queer Open Mic happens on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of every month at Three Dollar Bill Cafe on the first floor of the San Francisco's LGBT Community Center at 1800 Market @ Octavia in SF and is hosted by Cindy M. Emch & Sherilyn Connelly

Open Mic sign up begins at 7:30, readings start at 8pm. Anyone with special needs should contact Cindy the night of the event for any specific accommodations.
$1-5 donations benefits Bitch Magazine. No one turned away for lack of funds. Open mic readers get 5 minutes, one poem or 3 pages of prose, whichever fits the material best.
For more info, contact Cindy M. Emch, indigo_cin@yahoo.com.
