if you and i could go anywhere today... within driving distance from where either of us are right now
where would we go and what would we do?

i'll go first.

i would get you and we would drive to the lake berryessa swimming hole
on the way we would stop at that one market and get food to grill and tons of beverages to drink both boozy and not
and then we would lay on the ground and tell stories and climb trees and splash in the water and laugh until it was dark and the night was pushed back by our campfire and we ate charred meats and just relaxed.

I would get you and we would get dressed up in our best gypsypunk clothes, then we'd drive to Chicago, with a flask of something in our pockets. We'd park on the edges of Chinatown, and wander the dusktime streets sipping from our flasks, looking in shop windows at the trussed ducks and the dried fish and the colors of red & gold. Then, we'd wander over to the big rock club, and we'd dance 'til we were sweatsoaked & falling over, to the sounds of the World/Inferno Friendship Society.

you know - last time you were here it was our first time meeting in real persons. now that we've gotten roadweary together i cannot wait to plan us some adventures!

We almost drove to Yosemite on Wednesday, just because we'd never been. Someday we still might.
