Sr. Web Designer

Responsibilities

Design high-quality website pages and marketing assets on time, based on requirements provided by site producers and business owners
Work with site producers to iterate designs based on multiple review rounds with business owners
Perform & manage all web design tasks established in Agile SCRUM development sprints
Deliver creative that can be quickly and properly handled by front-end web developers
Oversee contract design resources as needed

Qualifications

5+ years designing & supporting complex web design and UI for large consumer focused websites
Expert working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash
Deep understanding of Internet UI best practices
Experience designing for a young (18-34) male web audience
Familiarity with versioning management systems and web development processes
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Pluses

Interactive, Video, Print design experience

Responsibilities

Manage website projects including feature enhancements, sponsorship programs, and back-end improvements and fixes
Define tasks, resources, and timelines, and communicate project status with project stakeholders
Assign resources and track the progress of tasks scheduled to be implemented in weekly Agile SCRUM development sprints
Collaborate closely with designers, editors, web developers, software engineers, site producers and QA to properly execute site projects
QA, troubleshoot, test and support launch of new products
Generate detailed product specification documents and wireframes
Create workflow documentation for Editorial and Site Production teams

Qualifications

5+ project managing complex projects for large consumer focused websites

Increase user engagement on the website, and build an active community of comedy creators and fans
Write and edit copy for Atom.com, Atom marketing campaigns, and Atom TV (our weekly late-night series on Comedy Central)
Manage the Atom release schedule, working closely with Atom’s content, marketing, site, and sales teams
Define and manage execution of regular content and community promotions and features
Lead Atom’s efforts to expand further into non-video forms of web comedy, including blogging, graphic art, and photos
Advise content team on video and game acquisition and development
Manage freelance writers and potentially internal staff

Interface closely with MTVN technology teams located in LA & New York
Collaborate with project managers to oversee technical design, team assignments, task estimation, implementation and debugging
Work with senior staff to evaluate and prioritize new features and functionality

Qualifications

7+ years designing, building & supporting complex web application code for large consumer focused websites
Strong knowledge of Java, common design patterns and J2EE MVC Frameworks
Deep familiarity with technologies like JSP, JSTL and Taglibs
Comprehensive understanding of FreeMarker, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, DOM and HTML
Clear understanding of ad serving technologies (DoubleClick, EyeBlaster, Panache) & reporting architectures (Omniture)
