FYI - on the hate crime

Hey Folks
FYI on the hate crime i posted about last night
despite what the santa cruz police are saying to callers

the attack was against 2 queers
a trans man and his queer bio female wife

so, yea, in removing their names from the original letter, to protect their identities from further violence as requested, the gender / queer aspect of who got attacked got lost

apologies for that

and thank you to everyone that is making the effort to force some action on this one

Meep. I was a bit unclear on that and translated the letter to mean that two gay men were attacked, so that's how I addressed it in my email. I hope that doesn't cause the DA to take it any less seriously.

nah i am sure it is fine

charliegrrrl called the office and apparently was told the attack was on a hetero couple and so wasn't a hate crime

wanted to clear it up in case they tried to tell that to everyone, a bit misleading (the friend in question told me that they were very out / disclosed etc about their queerness to the cops)

The anal-retentive perfectionist in me wants to send a follow-up email to fix the error, but I suspect that would only complicate things.
