:(
my parents sent us presents
last thursday someone signed for them
don't know what address that was at - thought the package was addressed correctly
the neighbors in our building sign for stuff but always put it in front of our door
no sign of a friendly neighbor bringing over the package they signed for
boo! i hope that the box comes back to us.
but that was last THURSDAY - there's been time to drop it off
i hope the presents aren't stolen.

*******

ETA
found the box
opened
outside
on top of a big stack of cardboard to be recycled
someone lied and signed with my name
it looks like all gifts are there and unharmed

i totally do not understand
but am grateful that i looked at the recycling stack before the recycle people showed up

I hope your presents weren't stolen either. Any way you could have the USPS help you track it down since they allowed the package to be signed for by someone it wasn't addressed to?

This is so sad, monkey. I was hoping they'd turn up.

me too. it's not about the gifties so much. i like to believe the best of people you know? not the gov't and people with power. but that people like us - i believe that we're good at heart. that everyday people usually do the right thing. it feels so hard on my heart that someone would steal their neighbors family presents. like the worst in people is suddenly true. kinda takes the shine off of the world.

Maybe they just forgot? Like, they brought them in and then left town, and oops?

How many possible neighbors could it be? Have you asked around a bit?

haven't asked around yet. it's not the people in our building so it could be anyone. on friday i can find out the name of who signed for the package though.

They willfully intercepted your package, rummaged through it, left all the gifts alone, and then took it to the recycling area?

Must've been hipsters, and your gifts must not have been hip enough.

I'm glad you got your gifts! That must help things, eh?
