ABOUT FRAMELINE
Founded in 1979, Frameline's mission is to strengthen the diverse LGBT community and further its visibility by supporting and promoting a broad array of cultural representations and artistic expression in film, video and other media arts. Frameline's integrated programs provide critical funding for emerging LGBT filmmakers, reach hundreds of thousands with a collection of more than 200 films distributed nationally, and create an international stage for the world's best queer film through the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival and additional screenings and cinematic events.
THE POSITION
The Program and Hospitality Associate is responsible for direct administrative support to the Director of Programming and Artistic Director as well as all aspects of filmmaker and guest communication and handling, excluding travel arrangements, for Frameline32: San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. In addition, the position is responsible for the supervision of the Programming Interns.
Reports to: Director of Programming
Salary: $16,000
Status: Temporary
Schedule: January 14— February 1, 2008 part-time
February 4—July 3, 2008 full-time
July 7- July 31, 2008 part-time
QUALIFICATIONS
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and demonstrated attention to accuracy
• Responsive to unpredictable workflow and hours
• Macintosh proficient
• Knowledge of Filemaker Pro software or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with hospitality industry helpful
• Familiarity with LGBT Community
• Sense of Humor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Data entry and creation of files for all Film Festival entries and related materials
• Organization and maintenance of film and research databases and files
• Organization and maintenance of poster files
• Coordination of videos and materials for Screening Committees
• Communication with filmmakers, distributors and other industry contacts
• Preparation and proofreading of select catalogue copy
• Processing of guest accreditation forms and maintenance of guest database
• Coordination of home-stay program
• Supervise and train Programming Interns
• Assembly and distribution of guest gift bags, info packets and badges
• Coordination and management of operation of Guest Services
• Scheduling of dinner reservations and guest services as needed
• Coordinate schedules and duties for volunteer Hospitality Hosts and Theatre Hosts
• Set up and manage Green Room at Castro Theatre/Festival Pavilion
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Programming & Artistic Director
• Attend daily meetings with Film Festival staff
• Complete post-Film Festival written wrap report
