i want a pair of what zappos.com refers to as dress slip on boots.
they look like this in general - or at least the one's *I* like look like this.
now - what is the general term for these sorts of shoes - and where the fuck can i find them that are cool looking without the $400 price tag* that the two below have attached.
thank you

*and i really thought that the shoes i liked were expensive - omg - i so do not live in this land of mark naison and manolo blahnik shoes

I don't know what they're called, but I've seen boots like that at the shoe store near the corner of 19th/Mission. I don't remember what they cost, but I'm pretty certain it was a lot less than $400.

I don't know where you can find them for super-cheap, but there's a little shoestore on 19th and Mission next to the Beauty Bar where you can get all kinds of shoes for a decent price.

I would go for the classic chelsea boot with a cuban heel. They slip in, look slick, and can be found for $150 or less.

Happy shoe shopping!

I wear a more utilitarian slip-on boot called Blundstones from Australia. They have dressier versions too. They are the best shoes I've ever owned. Cost me $75 shipped from Australia. Their somewhat dressier versions are probably just as good.
