did i mention the open mic?
Jul. 17th, 2007 11:21 amSo i think in all of the chaos of driving to airports and then bonding with my couch and my fever I forgot to talk about Friday's much anticipated open mic.
Folks it both rocked and rolled!
Thanks to the multinational corporation's desire to not burn all of us out - I left work at 3pm on Friday (yay summer hours)
Which meant that J.Fatome and I got to go to the beach. Pacifica beach specifically and it was dreamy, foggy, cold and full of seaweed that looked like tiny moons hiding in the sand. Lucky dawg came with us and showed off her abilities to unearth teeny tiny crabs from the sand. She does love the all you can eat crab buffet that is the beach to a dog.
The jellyfish looked sideways at us as we left and a beach crow preened for us. A dried and salty piece of moon inspired seaweed asked to leave with J. Fantome and to see Milwaukee with her. I obliged and held onto it while she put her boots back on.

We then hightailed it back down the coast to the homestead to pick up
muy_macha and head ourselves into town proper.
Arriving early at the Three Dollar Bill Cafe we found
aranyamei already there - soon to be joined by
katasutra.
J. Fantome readied herself with smoke

While the fabulous folks arrived - including LJ allumni:
abostick59 ,
black_pearl_10 ,
doriankatz ,
ginoushka ,
gordonzola ,
imnotandrei ,
kalimaia ,
knowyermonkey ,
lnghnds ,
pantryslut,
raychoo,
redshrike ,
sherilyn (of course),
fightingwords, and
wild_irises
(who did i miss?)
So then with the many excellent readings - with J. Fatome blowing me away with her fabulous words, stories and accordion. And after to Zeitgeist for rowdy (if way too smoky) fun and an early retirement.
Home by 1am and tucked in by 2. Thanks all of you, you made it rock.
