i do think that i may have in fact sprained my wrist. the overcompensation for which is fucking up my back. i am sure that isn't really helping my insatiable cranky. ice for now. brace for sleeping. possibly dr. in the am depending on how it feels.

in hilarious news - when i went to the place to see the people today the bouncer at the door laughed at me and said "ah - here to enjoy your injury today?" which really i thought was pretty charming.

I find that ice cream is actually a more effective treatment than ice. And contrary to popular belief, it shouldn't be applied directly to the injury but rather placed in mouth and savored one lovely spoonful at a time.

can you get ahold of some arnica (rainbow grocery, whole foods, or pharmaca will carry it)? when my daughter broke her foot, a single dose of arnica took most of the bruising and pain away, so that she was able to walk on her own (pain free) by the next day. her doctor was surprised at how quickly the bruising and swelling disappeared.

i'd recommend a 200C or 1M potency -- get both if you can, just in case. if you need advice about how to take homeopathic meds (i.e., when to re-dose), let me know and i can call you tomorrow to explain.

if you're using the arnica gel or cream, that's probably not sufficient -- it's good mostly for a bad bruise, but not so good for a sprain or strain or break. for your injury, you likely need the homeopathic granules (i.e., little sugar pills), especially if you're in pain.

and, yes, being responsible is good! definitely go to the doc if you're unsure about how bad your injury is, if the pain is unbearable, etc.

hope the pain continues to subside. take care.
