the gossip

i dreamt last night that i was being recruited by the members of The Gossip to join a new side project they were doing - something where they needed a poet who was good at yelling and bouncing around and staying on pitch too.

I got so excited. The spotlight on me and I channellled Patti Smith and Tom Waits and Chuck E. Weiss and kicked out the jams motherfuckers and it was beautiful. Drenched in sweat and joy just at rehearsal, every fiber of me pulsing with music and energy and power as I sang out of every pore.

It was beautiful. and I think - it is an omen.

recently, i saw a burlesque show where a woman was doing a gymnastics balancing beam routine to the gossip. splits and sexy stuff and topless.now when i hear that song, i will have that image fused to it.
oh, the possibilities.
more people should do drag and burlesque to punk chicks, i tellya.
