woke up achey, tired, rough throat, crankypants - ish
what i suspect? the lifting and schlepping of heavy heavy things and prolonged exposure to a fanciful array of bleach related and hostile / toxic cleaning products has in fact successfully reproduced the feelings of sick which has landed me home.
an overdeveloped sense of responsibility has me chacking work email to put out any fires, which i prolly shouldn't because i am taking an actual sick day - as opposed to working from home... but still i don't want to negatively impact my co-workers any more thani have to.
my hope? by taking it easy today i can offset the chemical / actual ill and be up and raring to go by tomorrow. that's the theory anyway.
i actually have a bunch of solo time today too, my first time in the new house alone. wahoo. so the cold helping tea is brewing, going to put some soup together, jazz is on... rest! yay! rooster is starting grad school today. very exciting.
things are looking up up up - it's just a shame that as the beat is turning around i am watching it from the cocoon of illness on the couch.
