I read at a wonderful open mic last night - it was good, it was intense, and I liked how it turned out. The feature was Daphne Gottlieb, who is always wonderful - reading some work that spoke to me in those pit of my stomach, my mind has to churn and enjoy and pull on the words like taffy for awhile because it's just that good. Right on thing, is that this new space, The Dark Room, is small, intimate, and just the right size to tempt artists to read the risky - it's been good to me this week.
