i heart art - notes on the brand new highway show

i love performance
i love seeing people i know as regular transform into Performers before my eyes
i love feeling my heart crack open
I love feeling glory like church at a queer art event
like honestly holy glory
there were moments when i could've chosen jaded
i chose to cry with joy and revelation instead

i was even thinking
the next show is 7/1 in santa fe
hmmm road trip?
prolly not possible
but that's why my little heart wants

Totally. Ok, so I don't know the performers, but watching the performance I suddenly yearned to be up there with them on stage, not just as an individual, but as a part of what was going on--because they were saying something significant, something that I felt, and something that I know the people sitting next to me felt in some way as well. The show dealt in those big subjects that we are all thinking about and made them all tangible, comprehensible and real: Home, Community, Friendship and Love, and the often transitory nature of a generation that is now beginning to mature.

And acrobats always get me. I mean, how many people can fly, even if it is with the aid of ropes? And how many people have backs with muscles that resemble wings?

You do know me. Sorry I keep posting these anonymous comments. I get bored at work(a new job would be a good thing) and have a minimal number of blogs to read and haven't yet delved into the reading-personal-blogs-by-people-I-don't-know-at-all.

i would love to hear more about the brand new highway show if you have a chance to write more. i take classes at lava in nyc & am always amazed by them (actually this is how i found your journal, searching for anything on the show)
