it is taking every ounce
of every willpower that i have
to not take the afternoon off
just go downtown and look at pretty things
try on sparkly skirts i cannot afford
play with makeup and bath products at sephora and lush
try on shoes
people watch at old navy
just go wander into tourist land
maybe even ride the streetcar over to the wharf and cost plus and views of the bay
i hate being here
made even worse by the fact - that people here are nice and there is nothing 'wrong' with being here
except the prison-esque feeling of being trapped with no way out

maybe i should walk over to the grocery store and buy an apple
maybe that would help
