Apr. 28th, 2006 01:10 pmit's the interview meme! i love this one. if you wanna play - leave a comment saying interview me, and i'll ask you some questions. here are my answers to lyricagent's questions :)
1. What was the first poem you can remember reading that made you cry?
It was an entire book - called Lines Scribbled on an Envelope by Madeline L'Engle.
It touched me and I devoured every poem in it. Lots of crying and profound awakening of different ways to see things - I was in 6th grade.
2. What book that you've read do you wish you'd written?
Scrambled Eggs and Whiskey by Hayden Carruth
3. Why did you quit smoking? No, the real reason.
It stopped tasting good. My philosophy was - that it's fine to do something self destructive as long as you know it is, and you're enjoying it. Once I stopped enjoying it I quit. The trouble with this theory is that when you have cravings it's hard to talk yourself out of the indulgence.
4. Hypothetical Situation: You've had a torrid one-night affair with someone. Do you tell?
wait - it's hypothetical? ;)
Of course I tell. This has actually happened to me in my past. But it was an open relationship so telling wasn't as scary as it would be with a cheating thing. But I am always open about these sorts of things. Would I tell my friends as well... hmmm... some of them definately. But overall I am not a kiss and tell kinda gal.
5. What is the most relaxing thing in the world for you?
Red Wine. The smell of lilacs. Beer on a stoop on a sunny day. Laying in someone's yard, smelling like grass. Swimming in a lake.

Date: 2006-04-28 03:43 pm (UTC)2. Ears i guess. Did you mean unusual? I got my cartilage pierced when I was 15. I went to the mall with my faggy roommate and listend to the grease2 soundtrack the whole way. If thats not unusual enough i got my nose pierced when i was 18, the day that dumped my first boyfriend. I bought big boots that day too. And decided I probably wasnt ever going to get married in the conventional sense.
3. er... pop culture? i like that i can say "bueller... bueller... bueller..." when nobody's answering me and everyone knows what i'm talking about.
4. sheesh. this moment right now. and that last one.
5. I like that spot where the neck meets the shoulder after someone has just gotten out of the shower because theyre clean and your buried in their skin. Or the space in between someones shoulders after they've gotten all sweaty because your exhausted and happy. Theres also a place when you're crossing the street from the macarthur bart to the parking lot where the usual bart smells of old pee and concrete and car exhaust open up to fresh cherry blossoms just for a moment then its gone because its beautiful and unexpected. And spring lavender and sage in my grandmothers garden, because it pure and alive. Theres lots. I'll stop now.
