I am featuring with a handful of other local known poets (the rest of the readers are being chosen by lottery) at this big open mic tonight. Come on over if you want. This is the PR blurby from the organizer. And if you’re busy – I am hosting my usual open mic tomorrow night at the $3 bill café at 8pm (1800 Market st)

Thanks

Cindy

Hello Poets---
Today is Thursday, April 27, 2006. In celebration of National Poetry
Month, we will gather at City Hall today for a very large open mic. As you
know,
the open mic reading slots will be drawn by lottery. Sign up begins at
4pm
on the front steps of City Hall. Sign up for the lottery will continue
through the event, and there will be drawings through the evening.

Poets should come prepared to read ONE poem, not to exceed two minutes.
What
that means is that if you read a haiku in 17 seconds, then that is your
one
poem and you are finished. There are many poets who will want to read,
so we
are observing the time limit this evening.

Poems Under the Dome is FREE! Please invite your family & friends.

Winners of open mic slots at open mics all over the city will be
performing
at the beginning of the program, so if you already have a reading time,
please arrive as close to 5pm as possible. Also, make sure to take a
look at
your picture on the website, www.poemdome.com, everybody looks great!

Poems Under the Dome will begin promptly at 5:30pm. We all know that
poets
are always late, but events at City Hall START ON TIME! Also, we must
be out
of the building at 8:30, so starting on time means that we get more
poets up
to the mic.

Come have some fun at City Hall tonight! See you there!
