short story long
i learned the first verse and chorus of this song when I has five
a conversation at work piqued my interest into kowing all of the lyrics
(Tavern in the Town, folk song, 1891)
this is the last verse
this just sounds so beautiful
"Oh! dig my grave both wide and deep, wide and deep,
Put tombstones at my head and feet, head and feet,
And on my breast carve a turtle dove,
To signify I died of love."
