just for the record
i am home with garlic bread cooking and filling the air with the smell of home
and i don't mean the smell of my mothers kitchen
i mean home
the smell of love
the smell of what safe and loving spaces i have made with friends as lovers since i left my parents home

the smell of love with homemade chicken soup on the stove
and a hot toddy in preparation for later
though i may just skip that and go for the diet rootbeer
