back to atkins again... i do not have the discipline in the grey area for south beach
hopefully, this time, based on your advice from last year, i can make it a short term deal and then shift back to the some carbs, more veggies diet that I can do maintenance at...
If you don't get many of the fluffy white carbs, having a whole grain english muffin tastes pretty fuckin good. I could never cut them out all together.
On the good days, I'm getting like, around calories from carbs. But I'm getting some in there. It's good for the B vitamins among other things.
The anti carb people always tout, "there is no essential carb!" but you know, whole grain bread has a lot of other things, it's high in iron for that matter, that are good for you. Just don't eat half a loaf at a time, as I have the ability to do.
We are not small people. We need to eat. Our bodies need fuel.
i totally get that, and i did like south beach, i tried it over the summer and had some success on the phase one part, felt good too, and then... well let's just say that telling me brown rice is ok in small amounts meant i was eating it for bfast and dinner... sourdough bread is ok, alright, five slices a day... i just couldn't make the slippery carb slope work because i am such a total slut for carbs.
i actually wish it would've been better for me because i liked what it was all about. for now, i am 'trying' to make atkins work again because i had so much success there for so long and then move more towards a south beach maintenance.
i know there are good carbs, me and the b vitamins like each other a lot. i am trying to supplement atkins with a bevy of wheatgrass shots and many green veggies. but oy, it's a lot harder this time around than last... that is for DAMN SURE!
South Beach or Atkins?
