the thing was from the 60's, i believe it was tim leary and the phrase was
tune in
turn on
drop out

ie - tune in to the new love movement
turn on to it
and drop out of your parents version of culture

(this last pasrt is me heavily interpreting through my own blase filter, not an exact explanation)
