emchya day in lake water
i remembered the smell
lakes in california do smell the same
as lakes in michigan
twenty years ago
if there was no traffic
i would spend every other moment at the lake
traffic though
has its own smell
and a way of scrubbing off
the sweetness of lake
in three hours of bumpers
