in sweeter news
Apr. 18th, 2008 11:37 pmyesterday i engaged in some retail therapy. before i went off to oakland with lilacs in hand i stopped by old navy. expecting a couple of black tank tops i was surprised by some old fashioned eggshell white linen nightgowns with "skin" coloroured lace. now the nice thing about this is its a classic 1920s colour combination that makes me really happy. to add happy to it was a white crocheted cotton shrug meant to be warm on the top of the tiny spaghetti strapped nightie to ensure happy warm in those morning coffee hours. and i have ordered things in my size from the 20s off of ebay to lounge and sleep in and this had all of the charm of modern comfort with the pretty of old fashioned. so soon i go get in my new pjs and make the happy. i fear the launry has eaten my favorite nightgown so this new developement is a very good thing. i miss the old one (pictured in the icon kinda) but the new is a good good one.
sometimes i have to remember how much the things i sleep in, pjs, sheets, etc - how much they influence how i feel about my life as a whole. see it's like - sleepytime is the ultimate time of giving back to yourself. of self care. and if that's can't have some element of luxury or comfort - well then - what's left?
