maybe. must go make coffee. if i can get there by 10:30

even here-it still matters
sexy beast and i talked a lot about this, she grew up here. and still unless you are directly in a queer neighborhood, and though it's great to usually have some queers at your work and such, the WHOLE WORLD, the WHOLE CITY validating and being queer even just for a weekend, feels really powerful. makes me realize how invisible i often feel, even here.

it's not so much about fighting the opposition as claiming the assumed heteronormative space as homonormative or... homo not so normative ;P

for me too - it's also about claiming space that queers in other places can't. or risk violence for doing so. (though we do still have gaybashing in sf, sadly opened the national queer arts fest with a gay bashing this year)

anyway i think that's why it makes me cry so much.
