tonights accordion show was full of win. like really full. i feel alive and in my skin and happy. the burlesque ladies were sexy though i only got to see one of their three acts - but i know that at least one of them was appropriately blasphemous and nun related. mark growden gave a few really excellent songs and now months and months and months after trying to get a damn copy of live at the odeon - either burned or bought online or mp3's or whatever - he just gave me one of the limited edition versions for nice. oh and a custom screen printed poster too. ok rock n roll. it was good to see him though and good to see some other accordion folks. skyler rock star that she is taught me how to play st james infirmary before the gig - OMG i can now play one of my most favorite songs ever? HELLO? how is that even possible??? her partner melody introduced us to the cutest dogs in the world living back in their bus - w00t. our set was good and a bit longer than usual. i got some good compliments on my voice from the duet we did and i think overall it was one of our best shows ever. the bad mittens orchestra closed the show and hot damn they rocked. i mean for reals. they're form up in eugene but will be busking around town somewhere tomorrow for gas money. if you see a bunch a bad ass ladies playing for change - stop a while - you'll love it. i bought their cd as well - i hope they translate well to recording. i bet they do.... i bet i bet i bet. in other awesome news. skyler asked us to play with her at the cotati accordion fest. this is a big deal and not so easy to play at and kinda prestigious in a way that is impresive to me since i only picked it up like what - 7 months ago? omg awesome. i've confirmed and if the whole band is not available will be oing solo to represent. hopefully the calendars are clear enough that it works.
