JUNE 27, 2008
Queer Open Mic featuring local literati Daphne Gottlieb and special guest from Seattle - Sarah Katherine Lewis.

On June 27th Queer Open Mic is marking a big change in the show. Founder, curator and co-host Cindy Emch will be taking an indefinte hiatus to focus on her bands Vagabondage and Rhubarb Whiskey. In her stead will be Mollena Williams (existing co-host and local award winning performance artist) and Sarah Dopp (member of the New Hampshire Slam team and founder of thewrit.org).

To celebrate Cindy's last show she'll be playing some special accordion tunes. The night features local literati Daphne Gottlieb. Daphne is the author of KISSING DEAD GIRLS, WHY THING BURN, JOKES & the UNCONSCIOUS, FINAL GIRL, PELT and editrix of FUCKING DAPHNE and HOMEWRECKER.

QOM is also proud to feature special guest Sarah Katherine Lewis on tour from Seattle. A contributor to Gottlieb's newest anthology FUCKING DAPHNE and author of the awesome INDECENT and SEX & BACON, she is not to be missed.

Daphne Gottlieb
San Francisco-based Performance Poet Daphne Gottlieb stitches together the ivory tower and the gutter just using her tongue. She is the editor of Fucking Daphne: Mostly True Stories and Fictions and Homewrecker: An Adultery Reader, as well as the author of the poetry books Kissing Dead Girls, Final Girl, Why Things Burn and Pelt, as well as the graphic novel Jokes and the Unconscious with artist Diane DiMassa.

Sarah Katherine Lewis is the author of Sex and Bacon: Why I Love Things That are Very, Very Bad For Me (Seal, 2008) and Indecent: How I Make It and Fake It as a Girl For Hire (Seal, 2006) and has contributed to several anthologies, including Fucking Daphne: Mostly True Stories and Fictions (Seal, 2008). A ten-year veteran of the adult industry in Seattle, Portland, and New Orleans, she now spends her time maintaining her popular blog, at SarahKatherineLewis.com, writing, and playing with food in Seattle, Washington. An outspoken (and often outrageous) feminist activist, she works to promote global revolution and dreams of a world where all women feast like Vikings.
