the venues I know in chicago, asheville, and atlanta are all too big, but I love those towns and am excited at the thought of you going there!

In NOLA, I'm a fan of One Eyed Jacks. They have burnt velvet walls and velvet tittie paintings - it used to be a porn theater, but it's been a venue for 50 years or so.

Oooh! I'm gonna have to check that place out. It's actually kind of close to where I am staying in NOLA, and close to both universities. Any other recommendations?

i've got chicago & milwaukee covered, obviously. we just need to decide what order we're doing the cities in, so i can figure out dates.

i have friends i can talk to about atlanta, although maybe we could do athens instead? i might have a couple connections in memphis, too, so i'll work on that.

In New Orleans: Dragon's Den. Full of weird circusy people when I was there last, and I plan on hanging out there this summer quite a bit. I saw the Zydepunks play there (awesome zydeco-klezmer-punk) with World Inferno Friendship Society. They have a myspace: http://www.myspace.com/dragonsdennola .
