One of the most best things I have realized that has helped me enormously in the past 13+ months is the feeling of "community" for people in recovery. I have, for a long time, wanted to do a similar "community" thing for artists.
One of my mentors has a writer's room that is a standing date for writers friends.
I think it would be cool to have a place you knew that people would gather in, and just be able to roll in on any given Sunday morning. Like, OK, so if we picked the LGBTXYZ center, or the back room at Mission Creek Cafe(Valencia between 20th & 21st), you could say "OK, on Sundays from 11-2, drop in bring your notebook, post-it notes, laptop, whatever. Hey, if no one shows up, at least you got off of your ass. Have a coffee. Write 19 words hang out. And if lots of people show you have a"Write-in" or a "chat-in" or give out scrips and have people read a scene you are working.
