so - frustrated pop culture moment

why exactly did Isaiah Washington feel the need to interrupt his producer during her golden globe press junket sum up and announce that he didn't call his co-star a faggot back in october. was it because pre-golden globes show he announced that he loves gay and no one paid enough attention? so later he had to get all weird about it thus both doing the "man cutting off the woman" thing AND the "he is being oversensitive" or even actually the "he is lying" thing about his queer co-star. WHO was so shocked that someone would think that was ok felt like he needed to come out and not just let that sort of thing be ok. and then why did washington CONTINUE to talk about how he would NEVER say such a VILE thing - meanwhile repeating the word faggot and drawing more and more attention to it when really this had all died down long ago. so knight goes on ellen and tries to set the record straight in what felt like a very low drama sort of way. and katherine heigel (another co-star) totally goes on record saying that she is not ok with what washington said - . wow. drama-rific and also very sad.

more info on what the hell i am talking about here: http://perezhilton.com/topics/icky_icky_poo/he_should_just_be_killed_off_20070117.php

and in other pop culture opinions - america ferrera - with her acceptance speech - omg how many women in that audience (salma hayek, jada pinkett, etc) had tears in their eyes as she talked about how important this other vision of beauty (latina, not skinny, not scrubbed and photoshopped looking) is to girls and women in our culture. ok i admit it - i got teary too. it was awesome. for those in the dummy gallery - she was the star of "real women have curves"

*i suck at name spelling. apologies to the typos and dorkiness of potentially misspelled names

ETA: UPDATE

The network has finally addressed Isaiah Washington's disgusting behavior.

They just released this statement to PerezHilton.com:

"We have a long standing policy to create and maintain respectful workplaces for all our employees. We dealt with the original situation in October, and thought the issue resolved. Therefore, we are greatly dismayed that Mr. Washington chose to use such inappropriate language at the Golden Globes, that he himself deemed "unfortunate" in his previous public apology. We take this situation very seriously, and his actions are unacceptable and are being addressed."

I must admit I got a little teary watching that interview with Katherine Heigel where she talks about TR Knight being her best friend and how she was all ready to give Isiah Washington the throw-down if need be out of loyalty to her buddy. Just like on the show! No wonder they play it so convincingly ...

New episode tonight, right?!

Wow. Maybe it'll be like when professional athletes get caught doing drugs and they get fined a brazillion dollars.

Probably not, though. The network folks are probably just wringing their hands in their offices, begging him to stop being such an asswipe.
