food adventure
May. 18th, 2006 05:54 pmso honestly one of the reasons i am returning to the no bread life is that i want to eat cheese and not feel guilty. yes the guilt is of my own creation but i also find that when i eat as much cheese as i like AND as many carbs as i like - i have to go buy new clothes because the old ones somehow shrink when i am not looking. so. today i went out and bought cheese. somehow no one i knew from the cheese mafia was working, so the cheese addicted/restricted mister looked on and tried to help me pick out cheeses that would be fun. which in a way was probably both fun and torture. so here is what i got.
Dutch Maasdammer
wow what an expected odor when i opened it up. i had also just poured some wine so i was all - this wine smells odd. but the flavor? butter heaven with just a teeny tiny underlying naughtiness that lingered. i like.
Salemville Gorgonzola
the cheese mafia writes that it is good in salads. they are very very wise people. wow.
and now what i haven't opened yet:
Pt Reyes Farmstead BLUE
Widmer XSharp Cheddar (aged 4 yrs)
Longhorn Cheddar
Bravo Silver Mountain Cheddar
French Cantal
Pepper Jack
thanks for all the cheese suggestions - next time i print out that list before i go to the store
:)
