because you are human and humans always feel like people, their friends especially, don't tell the truth because they like you too much. and so, we are prone to taking compliments with a grain of salt. when someone tells you something hurty, we think it's because that person has the balls to tell us the Actual Truth, regardless of whether or not it's accurate.

Even if we don't pick delusional friends, we convince ourselves that they're delusional, and forget the fact that they became our friends in the first place b/c they saw something they liked in us. We tell ourselves that they're just needy, or we're just lucky.

i updated some filters and so you can read what happened . long story short - some work i did got criticized and i hit a downward spiral of suckage about it. feeling better now. but you know... we all have those days.
