friends: i pick them by who i spark with. who makes me feel safe and comfortable and like i wanna go a little crazy with. someone who i can hust talk and talk and then maybe be quiet and just hang out with. it's not totally tangible - but i know when the connection is there.

LJ: means a place to remember who i am and who i want to be. to keep writing and to reach out to people and not be afraid of connections or asking for help, or offering help and sharing art and information.

music: this changes every time i make a list... BUT.patti smith, tom waits, frente, leonard cohen, pj harvey

22 yr old: not at all. i know a lot of people whose # of sexy people are low. sometimes its late bloomer. sometimes its serial monogamy. sometimes its just what it is.

LJ: i would prolly lose touch with a bunch of friends and become less involved with other friends, which would make me sad. big gaping social wound. and i would start using up more paper journals again.

Zoroastrianism is an ancient Persian religion which still has some adherents today. Conductor Zubin Mehta was Zoroastrian. Freddie Mercury was born to Zoroastrian parents.

for me personally. poly does't work. and not because of jealousy or trust issues, but its more about being honest with my heart. i was in a poly relationship for 6.5 years. and it worked. then i met someone that made me see, i was only poly because i wasn't totally happy. because i still was looking for that one person. that felt like such a betrayal, such hypocrisy and i hadn't even realized it was what i was doing. until it happened. so i don't do poly anymore. that said, for other people, i think it takes an immense amount of time and patience and love and compassion to make poly work. and it takes the same for monogamy. there are a different set of struggles with both. i don't think one way is better, though i think mongamy is easier because it is more culturally and socially supported.

faith: believing in something that makes you feel that there is hope. joy. good in the world. i have faith in trees. seriously. trees, woods, give me the sense that the world can be a good and honest and loving place. that's my church.
