On June 27th Queer Open Mic is marking a big change in the show. Founder, curator and co-host Cindy Emch will be taking an indefinte hiatus to focus on her bands Vagabondage and Rhubarb Whiskey. In her stead will be Mollena Williams (existing co-host and local award winning performance artist) and Sarah Dopp (member of the New Hampshire Slam team and founder of
thewrit.org).
To celebrate Cindy's last show she'll be playing some special accordion tunes. The night features local literati Daphne Gottlieb.

Daphne Gottlieb
San Francisco-based Performance Poet
Daphne Gottlieb stitches together the ivory tower and the gutter just using her tongue. She is the editor of
Fucking Daphne: Mostly True Stories and Fictions and
Homewrecker: An Adultery Reader, as well as the author of the poetry books
Kissing Dead Girls,
Final Girl,
Why Things Burn and
Pelt, as well as the graphic novel
Jokes and the Unconscious with artist Diane DiMassa.
Sarah Katherine Lewis is the author of
Sex and Bacon: Why I Love Things That are Very, Very Bad For Me (Seal, 2008) and
Indecent: How I Make It and Fake It as a Girl For Hire (Seal, 2006) and has contributed to several anthologies, including
Fucking Daphne: Mostly True Stories and Fictions (Seal, 2008). A ten-year veteran of the adult industry in Seattle, Portland, and New Orleans, she now spends her time maintaining her popular blog,
at SarahKatherineLewis.com, writing, and playing with food in
Seattle, Washington. An outspoken (and often outrageous) feminist activist, she works to promote global revolution and dreams of a world where all women feast like Vikings.
Cindy Emch
Cindy Emch is addicted to poetry, road trips and muscle cars. She can often be found writing highway poems and playing the accordion for one of her two bands, Vagabondage and Rhubarb Whiskey. Cindy's writing has been been published in the Can I Sit With You project, LodeStar Quarterly, There Journal, It's So You: 35 Women on Fashion, Beauty and Personal Style edited by Michelle Tea, and numerous chapbooks. She co-hosted the Aunty Cindy and Unka Lynnee show with Lynn Breedlove on Pirate Cat Radio from 2004 to 2007, and has been a curator for the National Queer Arts Festival since 2005. Emch is also the founder and co-host of San Francisco's twice-a-month Queer Open Mic, which has been hosting performers and freaks at the Three Dollar Bill Cafe since 2004. Mollena Williams
Mollena WIlliams is a founding member of the Crowded Fire Theatre Company, former Mentor Director for the Society of Janus and co-host of Queer Open Mic. She has been acting and performing in the SF Bay Area for years and years and has been named Best Local Actress in the SF Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay.
