Mar. 11th, 2006 12:32 pmlast nights show was... a little more empty, oh hell, a lot more empty than usual. but some friends showed up and that was good. kalimaia read some of my poetry and it was cool to hear it in another voice. the features were awesome. i kinda wanted to go play after but then what i tried to do petered out. so i was home by 10:38pm. hilarious. the mister got all inspired by lack of sleep and started editing her new film together. saw some footage from the dyke march that had people in it that i wasn't friends with yet. weird to see it a few years later and to know them. like seeing ghosts in reverse. people doing things and hanging out experiencing stories i have heard told from their mouths, and now i get to watch. like reading the book after seeing the movie. or maybe more accurately, if you knew someone as a friend, heard their stories, and then found out they were on a reality show and went back and watched the stories happen. it's a strange snake eating its own tail sort of thing. a bit disorienting. anyway, it was also cool, took me into some strange nostalgia that is also affection for my present.
also got the mister addicted to the latest round of addictingclips.com programming. had to be at work until 7ish to make sure the weekends clips got up, but they're good. the best one is the barbie girl clip. anyway - got inspired to do something else as a gift for a certain event coming up... and i don't know if the thing is wacky or evil or both. but it's going to be fun. heh.
had a dream recently that some friends helped the mister get a job working in the cheese dept of a certain store. and it was great - except she was tortured not being able to eat any dairy (allergy). and so with the help of friends she became the expert on the non-dairy cheese for all of the vegan and lactose intolerant. it was a weird dream. but there was a lot more hanging out at zeitgeist with folks talking about the merits of various cheese related things. odd.
today is i think an east bay bound day. dog park on the water and a lot of bundling up. still haven't fixed the brakes - WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME I NEED TO GET THE BRAKES FIXED. and not sure how much we can afford groceries. but both my diet and our budget is encouraging a lot of veggies and couscous. which honestly i love. it's just a matter of flavorings and garlic and good stuff like that.
i cancelled another responsibility today. i hope i am not becoming a flake. i am trying to be responsible in what i agree to do. i never used to be one of those people who gets so excited about things and then cancels due to being overextended or tired. and now i am one. i just hope i am being respectful enough about giving people notice when i cancel.
this weekend - i again have goals.
1. 3 films to watch and review for pay. deadline is monday.
2. take the dog out both days for at least 2+ hours a day. with no dogwalker she needs more exercise to keep her happy.
3. workout at least once
4. write one hhs-story
that seems fairly doable. afterall i already did the dishes and it's only 12:45 :)
