Jun. 16th, 2005 09:35 amwhat am i even thinking about this day. last night was good. smack dab ended earlier than expected and i got to put my foot in my mouth once, but it was just once and in semi-private company. so that's good. my buddy for the evening activities got pulled into other fun, and so i was the lone ranger through my adventures. but i got a draft of a super short story done while dining with myself at harveys. and had a good long talk with sexy beast on my way to the show.
show was good. no really good. made three new friends, two of whom will probably last. saw a bunch of underage punky grrrls bouncing and smoking and yelling and having a good time. best moment, mom / older sister (20's - 30's) and daughter (10-12) go go dancers in ruffled underwear, stripey tights, and retro shirts jumped up on the stage during tribe 8's set and did good old fashioned sixties era booty shakin.
so good.
tribe 8 was on fire. amazing what a good sound system can do to make a band have fun playing. made me sad that it this summer is the reunion tour. FYI - last night was the 'last show', tranny march is the start of their 'summer reunion tour' ok got it. slade was up from LA for the gig. such a hot shit drummer. i don't think she remembered me as her wife's friend from back in the day. and that is totally fine. we did the you look familiar smile thing and it was all good.
tonight is radio show and then to opening of flameline. looking forward to it, but i am already in 'gala' clothes. thus i look either like i am wearing last nights clothes, or i am looking to pick someone up. makeup, dress, tights and heels with sparkly jewelry is just not so common in the haight at 9am. nor at the gay job either actually.
drinking coffee. feeling a little sad. not sure why. tomorrow is the anniversary. it should be really good. i am taking the day off. we are going to special place for bfast. rowing on stow lake. dog walk. picnic. shopping. dinner at taluluah. performance at sizzle. post performance fun time. it should be good. here's hoping expectation doesn't get the better of us.
