and now for the category of yay
Aug. 13th, 2008 10:57 pmWell August is shaping up to be a fucking hyperactive month for accordion fans. I mean holy hot damn. And for me in the two accordion band s with the recording and the practicing and the getting ready for the sept tour and and and while shit it's practically insane. I think I am officially are out of time period :)
But seriously - this weekend will find me getting my total fanboy groove / musical inspiration on for the Monster of Accordion shows. Think monster truck but with accordions and fedoras instead of trucker hats, and sing a longs instead of... well you get the idea. It's going to be amazing. Last year I went to the San Francisco Monsters of Accordion tour and it actually changed my life. I went to the second bay area night in Oakland the next evening and decided to pick up an accordion myself and have never looked back. Well... ok I looked back to be all omg yay with the rosy nostalgia of the shows and their awesome. But I never looked back otherwise. Nope not no how. Thank you again to
whittles for making the show part of her bday celebration so that my mind could go yay kapow!
Anyways - this mind blowing experience is back this weekend. On Saturday in SF at 12 Galaxies and in Oakland on Sunday at 21 Grand. (note the cosmic symetry both bay area shows are at places with a 2 and a 1 and a G in their names - sure to mean that it's good luck to attend) I'll be at both shows and the pre show master class on Sunday at 21 Grand that's open to squeezeboxers of all levels.
Musicians playing this year are
Jason Webley

Mark Growden

Amy Denio and Duckmandu.
Alright and if that wasn't enough to just make August RULE... Vagabondage is going to be performing at the Cotati Accordion Fest on Sunday Aug 24 and then at the Hubba Hubba Revue @ Uptown in Oakland on Aug 25. Rock and freakin roll. So exciting. (plus I just got the Songs of American Sailormen - w00t!!!)
See you out and about hepcats.
