Background on the New Venture Seed Fund:

The New Venture Seed Fund seeks to encourage and support enterprising entrepreneurs to create new, social ventures whose formats are explicitly inclusive and affirming of women, people of color, youth, and/or other underserved LGBT sub-communities—and, at the same time, welcoming to all LGBT people.

Each 2007 Seed Fund recipient will receive nominal funding awards of between $500-$2000, as well as:
  • Tailored training sessions through the SF Center's Economic Development program
  • Entree into professional development programs at "partner" small business and entrepreneurship programs (e.g., the US Small Business Administration, the San Francisco Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center)
  • One-on-one advising from experts in the field, and access to a broad network of business leaders
  • Assistance with media outreach, marketing, and PR
  • Assistance with venue identification, permitting, and zoning regulations
  • Assistance with continued fund development, and access to additional funding through the Seed Fund
  • And much more!
