Queer Open Mic is this Friday people and DAMN do we have some rowdy fun planned.

First off, please come and welcome our new host Mollena Williams. To ensure some maximum mayhem Mollena will be introducing a new (and possibly recurring) QOM feature - the FISHBOWL RANT. Using a collection of words / thoughts / prompts that audience members put into a fishbowl - Mo will do a random 60 second rant. If you haven't heard or seen Mo rant before - please know - anything can and likely will happen.

Also we are both super geeky dorky excited to welcome local literati Jennifer Blowdryer to the QOM stage. If you don't know Jennifer's work, be prepared to be regaled by bitey funny tales of trendy people and punk rock pontifications. She is awesome people - you will love it the most.

So come on over to Vince and Pete's Three Dollar Bill Cafe at 1800 Market Street. This Friday August 24th, 7:30 to sign up to perform, 8pm to just watch the show. It's gonna be damn fun. All queers of all sorts are welcome. Donations of $1-$5 pay the feature for their art.

george jones is my hero

She thinks i still care

Just because I ask a friend about her
Just because I spoke her name somewhere
Just because I rang her number by mistake today
She thinks I still care

Just because I haunt the same old places
Where the mem'ry of her lingers ev'rywhere
Just because I'm not the happy guy I used to be
She thinks I still care

But if she's happy thinkin' I still need her
Then let that silly notion bring her cheer
But how could she ever be so foolish
Oh where would she get such an idea

Just because I ask a friend about her
And just because I spoke her name somewhere
Just because I saw her then went all to pieces
She thinks I still care
She thinks I still care

into the bedroom shutting the windows from the cold bitey air.
i can see lights on the hills that are rolling out to the ocean
it's all sparkle sparkle and then the delicious black
a deep velvet dark spreading out into evrything and past all of it
ocean that on this clean night doesn't even reflect the moon
i can hear its rumble when the restaurant quiets down
i can taste its salt on the air
the ocean is breeding dreams
