Are you a San Francisco High School student who likes to write? Are
you, or someone you know, a talented teen artist who deserves to be
recognized?

Bamboozled.org, an online magazine written, designed and produced by
San Francisco teens and based out of the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon
Center, is looking for a few rising high school students (9th or 10th
grade preferred) to join our team!

Our website is a mix of personal essays, entertainment reviews,
political commentary, poetry and artwork, with the goal of combining
technology and creativity to combat negative stereotypes about teens.
We also have an interactive message boards and a submissions page
where other youth worldwide can contribute to the site.

Writers have the opportunity to work with an editor, accomplished poet
and writer E.K. Keith, and the articles due are pretty much anything
you'd like to write, except one week you may have a "Truth" article
due, which is anything from fiction, to a rant, to a poem, and the
next may be an "Entertain", which would be a review about a  book,
movie, game or something about "city life." We also are kicking up a
new section on the site soon, called SHIFT, that is a more collective
platform of writing about a particular subject such as Sustainable
Urban Agriculture or Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice.
Position details:
· Attending weekly meetings with the team (at maximum capacity, 10
high school students) from 6 to 8 pm in the Sunset. Currently we meet
every Wednesday night.
· Writing articles, approx 1-2 per month and contributing to other
group projects, like SHIFT, which is to be launched soon.
· Reading and responding to emails (we use an email loop to
communicate between meetings).
· Planning special events & marketing the site - including writing and
distributing occasional press releases & newsletters
· Designing & assembling the BAM quarterly zine, brainstorming new
projects, and curating the Artist of the Month feature

And get this: BAM members get paid to write! Thanks to grants, we're
able to buy food for every meeting and authors are paid a small
stipend every other month.

We are currently looking to fill approx. 5 author spots. Please
contact us by calling the number below or emailing willo@willobot.com
with your interest, writing experience, contact information and/or any
questions.

We look forward to hearing from you!
