(I guess this just means I will have to come out there).
Here's where I'm going to direct you:
The MLK Center
Oakhurst Cemetary (great view of the city-skyline), which is right next to Six Feet Under & Ria's Bluebird Cafe (great eats)
Little Five Points (coffee, hipsterwear, indie books & food, parks)
East Atlanta (same as above, but smaller scale)
Candler Park and around (Donna Van Gogh art boutique, Gato Bisco, Flying Biscuit)
Decatur, the square & around.
Get ready to eat fantastic breakfast food & Get the Southern on.
bring sunscreen and very light clothes.
This town has big parks in every neighborhood.

(I grew up there, but I haven't been back in 5 years or so.)
Flying biscuit for sure. Owned (or once was?) by Amy Ray, of course.
Lots of good live music to be had, but I imagine you've got that covered.
Iced tea! Available everywhere. Sweet or unsweet.
You'll gain a new appreciation for air conditioning.
